      The Double Hung is the traditional American window, and our Panorama Series Double Hung is the flagship of the Vista product line.

      The Double Hung window consists of two "sashes", one on top and one on the bottom...that slide up and down as well as tilt in for easy cleaning.

      The sliding action is made possible by stainless steel coil springs (Constant Force Balance System) which support the weight of each sash.  The bottom (inside) sash is primarily used for opening the window, although the top (outside) sash can also be slid downward for ventilation.

      All Vista Double Hung windows are custom-made to your exact needs...down to 1/16".  These windows are available with glass options which will meet rigid Energy Star requirements in all 50 states.

Energy STAR Program


      The U.S. Dept. of Energy's EnergySTAR program utilizes our windows thermal performance data, as tested, measured and rated by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).

      Vista windows are available with glazing configurations that meet or exceed EnergySTAR standards in every zone.  For more information, feel free to download a product specification sheet by clicking on the link on the Vista Window Company website.  This sheet provides not only the thermal performance (NFRC) data on every Vista product, but shows each energystar zone for which a product qualifies.

The following points summarize the provision:

  • Windows must be placed in service from 1/1/2009 through 12/31/2010

  • Must be for taxpayers Principal Residence

  • One time credit is available for 30%, up to $1500.00 max

  • Save your receipts and Manufacturers Certification Statement OR EnergyStar Label

  • Minimum Standards: U Factor <=.30 SHGC <=.30. Not all EnergyStar labeled windows qualify.

  • The credit is only allowed on the price of the qualified windows themselves, not on installation costs, onsite preparation, assembly or sales tax.
